Body art raises breast cancer awareness

Breast cancer is the most common type of non-skin cancer among women and is said to be the fifth most common cause of cancer death. To strengthen awareness about this fatal disease, DDB Worldwide Singapore created a brilliant ad campaign using body paint to remind every women and even men about the significance of perspective when it comes to breast cancer.

Copy: "Are you obsessed with the right things? The difference between a pimple and breast cancer is that of life and death. Regular breast checks are the best way to fight cancer. Show support for the women in your life by purchasing a Pink Ribbon.”

Movie and fashion industry collaborate for short-film campaigns

Who wouldn't agree the Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese who brought us remarkable movies like Goodfellas, Gangs of New York, The Departed, and Shutter Island can squeeze a storyline in a 60-second TV commercial?

The notable director directed Chanel's latest perfume Bleu De Chanel, starring French Actor Gaspard Ulliel (of 'Hannibal Rising').

According to PopEater.com, the ad shows the refusal of the main character "to conform to expectations and falls in love with a woman who fuels his work with passion and turmoil".

Meanwhile, Dior also once tapped one of the known directors, Sofia Copolla to introduce their Miss Dior Cherie.

The texture of Dior's ad somehow reminds me of Copolla's Marie Antoinette and The Virgin Suicides.

As for Louis Vitton, they had Zoe Cassavetes to direct a one-minute short for their summer designs.

These ads actually tells that the fashion industry is indeed tapping well-known directors to craft ads that would appear like short films. Worldwide brand Gucci will also promote a new perfume in a 3-D "short-film" starring Chris Evans and Evan Rachel Wood. The ad is scheduled to release this September 12, during the MTV Music awards.

Oh, well. With this, I'm excited. Girl crush Evan Rachel Wood is just way too hot.

Taylor Momsen is a rocker and she doesn't give a shit

Being in a “rock” band where your band mates appear more like props or wearing thick black eyeliners doesn’t give you the right to bitch anyone who’s being compared to your idon’giveashit image.

Why one earth would you bash a famous pop star because she’s wearing a leather jacket?

Why would you deny that you don’t know Justin Bieber? Personally, he’s one of the most annoying kids for me but you, refusing to admit that you have no idea who he is just because you listen to Led Zeppelin and The Beatles doesn’t make you look too-cool-for-pop-scene.

Why would you even stress about masturbation, vibrators, and joke about getting laid with a priest just to make you look cool?

Oh, and yes. You don’t really have to stress that you have a collection of blades and knives just to make sure people don't forget that you’re a hardcore rock ‘n roll chic.

Sure, you don’t care much about the people who suffer in Haiti because you’re too busy to build your rock ‘n roll image.

Yeah, go and quit Gossip Girl because the popularity of the series ruins your heroin chic image. I just wonder, where were you before Gossip Girl? Oh. Maybe you’re writing songs about dying because it’s cool (and this word is being overused in this blog entry).

And, please? Stop denying that Courtney Love has nothing to do with your current image, because people who know her music and have heard your songs and saw your image practically know where you’re coming from.

"The reality of it is, you don't know me. You're not in my living room. You're not on my tour bus...It's cool to look up to people and think that they're cool, but be who you are." SOURCE

Maybe, we'll all be happy if she tells this to herself.

Oh, hate post. I think I might be obsessing with this pretty, reckless, cool girl already.

Lights, Camera, Action: Remarkable Action Photography

I'm practically one of the hundreds or maybe thousands of shutterbugs who want to perfectly capture moments in action. Sports photography for example, is one of the most challenging theme since I believe that it's best to capture the subject during his/her "bloody" skirmish. Why? Because an "action-packed" picture does not just simply paints a thousand words - it also discloses once in a life time emotions and stories.

Below are some of amazing action photography I found online:

When old school posters promote today's social media

The vintage devices illustrated in the posters were used to somehow show how today's social media would hypothetically work during the era when telegraph was popularly used to successfully communicate.

Korn Unplugged

Because I'm missing the good all days when I was younger (darn, am I getting old?! LOL), I looked for some of my favorite bands' MTV Unplugged Sessions in Youtube. Here are some of my most loved unplugged performances from Korn featuring the new wave legend Robert Smith, the gorgeous, hot goth chic Amy Lee, and bunch of talented drummers who collaborated to heighten the beat of Korn's performance.
